I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but MS SysInternals has a tool that will give you the complete details and order of your machine's startup from POST to desktop : Sysinternals Suite

    Find LoadOrder and run it.

I think Nirsoft might have something for you as well,

no, really 12 minutes. The actual hdd working and real program loading took like 2-3 seconds (dropbox, setpoint, autohotkey, maybe a couple more)
not a clue what can be the culprit, haven't even used this win8 installation that much

So Windows just waited there for 12 minutes without doing anything before the system tray apps started loading? That's hardcore! It's funny how Task Manager would show what programs are causing the delays but in my case I would have to disable more than half of my programs according to that claim. Nonsense.

I had a longish 'hang' with Win8 on a SSD during appearance of the system tray icons, and it was totally cured last week when I updated my Radeon driver to the latest one. It was already uptodate with the previous driver. So my hang was something to do with the graphics driver.

good news, today they loaded instantly. Haven't done anything remarkable particular to the system , except just using windows update. I'll see in coming reboots if it stays that way

I haven't actually measured, but I'm seeing better load times too nowadays. I will measure when I go home. If it was patched with an update, I would like to know which update did so.

Hi, Recently I had gotten an Asus Transformer FlipBook tp500LN that I really like except for a small fairly inconsequential problem: 53003 I like to keep my system tray cleaner than a nun's knickers and always disable tray icons for graphics, trackpad, etc. Problem is that with this laptop the...
Hi, so after using google chrome for about a year and having no problems whatsoever, just today I encountered one where the initial startup takes a very long time about 10-15 minutes, and this is only on initial launch, as when I keep chrome open any new chrome windows I launch load normally which...
Hi Everyone, After upgrading my ASUS X102BA DF040H from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, my system tray icon takes time to load (more than 2 minutes or sometimes not) such as Realtek HD Audio Manager, ASUS Smart Gesture, and ASUS USB Charger Plus during startup. I have already installed the latest...
I have Windows 8 and no matter what browser I use, it takes a long time to load any page on a website. It had worked great until about a month ago. We have two other computers in the house (one with XP and one with 7) they seem not to have issues, so I don't think it is a connection issue. The XP...
Hi, not sure if I posted in the right section but just wanted to ask some help on how to fix Chrome as it is taking an unusually long time to load. Quite happy with Win 8 Pro but just one little niggle has reared its head. After a couple of days uptime my tray icons in the hidden pop up are turning into white squares, which makes them hard to identify. I tried rebuilding the icon cache as found here, Icon Cache - Rebuild - Windows 7 Help...
