windows 8.1 64bit on a lenovo computer.
The computer has license key in hardware. No iso. It has a button for recovery mode.
If I want to get a back up, I have to make a create system image.

control panel -> system security -> file history -> system image backup.
An usb dvd drive is connected. It is listed as e on the system.
I select back up on one or more dvds.
Click next.
Click next.
Click start back up. Message insert media.
A dvd is in e. A new dvd.
Click ok.
Then two error messages show.
Media is not formatted.
And error. Class not registered 0x80040154.
Back up stops.

Is this only my computer or a general error?

Solutions?
Thank you.

I would forget al that if you create a backup from the recovery it will be way out of date use free disk imaging to create an image of your current system then if you have to redo you wont have months of updates. Create a new one every month or so

create a backup from the recovery
create system image does not make a back up of the recovery partition. It makes a back up of the running windows 8.1 system.

It has a button for recovery mode.
I wrote it, to explain why I cannot make an iso installation.
