Gestures not working in dell inspiron 1545

i came to know that laptops touchpad work as a touch screen in windows 8 and my dell inspiron 1545 is not supporting those can any one suggest me wat to do

A touchpad is not the same thing as a touch screen. Your touch pad may not support gestures, it may just emulate a mouse.

it is as a touch scrren for some the same thing you do with a touch screen is done by a touchpad i watched it in a video review of windows 8.

Yes but the thing is, some touchpads just emulate a mouse. Not all touchpads can do Gestures. Some can only handle one touch point, as in one finger at a time. If yours can do gestures and isn't then you need to install the correct driver/software from Dell.

how do i know that my touch pad is support gestures or not. In the drives list of my laptop there is only a alps which does have edge scrolling and edge zooming options

I don't know, the manual for your laptop might tell you. If you have the correct drivers and software installed and gestures still don't work its likely it doesn't support them.
