Ok, i seem to deal with a rather weird problem, for which i found no proper & relative answer.

Tryin to set the pagefile in two HDD as i always used to do in XP and 7, seems to be non acceptable for some reason in 8.1

I always set a custom size for each. Now, here is how it goes....

Setting pagefile in C works normal no matter the value. Setting the pagefile in the other two drives and disable it for C, it shows at first to have accepted the value, while it creates properly the pagefile.sys, but upon reboot, either is set as custom or system managed, it remains as reference in drives, but it reports 0MB pool.

If i set to C-D-E custom or system managed, it accepts only the C pagefile. In registry, the values are correctly set and drive letters. I reformatted the two partitions in which i want to set the pagefile, but did not help.

SFC made repairs, but did not solve the problem. Scandisk in any of the drives returns no errors.

I'd like to know if anyone dealt with similar problem and found solution. The installation of Win 8.1 is very recent without any bloatware installed.

Solution here

Alright, solution and cause found. Looks like it is Βitlocker's policy to limit pagefile to the OS drive, so u have to change a specific value in registry and restart. If u intend like me to use pagefile in two or more drives, u also have to change another key in the same branch, because Windows 8.1 has it disabled by default.

So,here u go, u open registry, go to --> HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\session manager\memory management
Look in there for "DisablePageCombining" and change it to 0 if it is 1, then look for "PagingfileOnOsVolume" and also change to 0 if 1. Restart PC and no more temporary pagefile created msg.
