PC is about 3 years old, recently it was very slow (took 10 minutes for cmd prompt to load) so I backed up all data I needed to keep and planned to factory reset on it. All was going smoothly... And then this...

Its been sitting at 1% for almost 5 hours...
I'm not super technically inclined so any step by step help would be super appreciated. I really don't want to drop more money on another PC right now.
Thanks.

You are now the 2nd or 3rd person recently to have this problem..

Press capslock on keyboard.. does it light up on keyboard?

listen for noise in the computer or put hand on near where you think the hard drive is spinning and do you feel any at all vibration?

the only other option is to wait 8 hours -or many more.. according to people...

I could care less, if it was me, but most think you need to wait extremely long times.. so let it sit there for overnight if you don't mind..

If you backup up everything, if it isn't doing anything tomorrow morning, then turn it off and try the reset one more time but remove all and any extra things you have plugged in .. but leave the keyboard and mouse plugged in obviously..

you also have the windows install CD?
