How to reset default registry without restoring/reseting?

Iīve set some custom registry and gpedits - for example - to dissable indexing, and such, and was wondering how to put back the default registry settings, without having to restore/reset the pc?
I donīt remember having them backed up somewhere, and the PC was just updated to Windows 10 recently - so is it possible to revert back to Windows 8.1 and the registry will stay original? Or just how do I put them to their original status?

And please donīt you know how much time it would take to revert back to Windows 8.1, on a slow laptop - Lenovo B50-70?

The registry will change to the default values for Windows 8.1 and any modifications will be reverted back

No, but then why do you ask the above question?

Ask someone who hasn't changed his registry for quick access to the computer so you can check the default values of the modications.
Or just how do I put them to their original status?

I'd google if "refresh" or "repair install" defaults the registry.. but I have a feeling it doesn't..

Might be time for a Macrium backup! You would make an image of your drive right now,..

then you would probably still have to go through the process of installing windows 8.1 (just once though)

and then get that clean "default" registry.. (import etc..)

and then Use that Macrium IMage you created before installing windows, to put back your Messy windows 8 and then import that registry that you backup from the clean windows 8.1 install..

yes it's time consuming.. but I guess you don't have USB 3 or something??
    make sense?

    For whatever it's worth:

The master copy of your Windows Registry lives on your hard drive, and gets loaded into RAM every time you boot up your PC.
When you do things to effect the Registry, that's all done in RAM memory.

Then it's only updated on the HD, when you shut down your PC in an orderly fashion. In a CRASH, the copy on the HD can not be updated, so it will load again on the next re-boot, and anything you've done since the last shutdown will be lost.
Unless you've run some special program to make a backup copy of the Registry on the HD, that one copy is all you get.
    Sorry!

The best way to back up your registry is to make a Backup Image File of your entire C: drive and store it in a safe place, like on an external hard drive or Flash Drive. (I use both, weekly) (not weakly)

Good Luck and Have a great 2016
