I have this problem on windows 8.1 on my laptop the rastart takes a long time with fast startup activated but when i shutdown and start it take less time is there way for more improvments on my restart time and if you can tell me how to do?

I have windows 8.1 with all updates up to date

There is a way to make fast startup option work for restarts too to improve the time?

I have an asus X751L laptop

Be aware that a shutdown with Fast Startup isn't a true shutdown, but more of a hibernate; that's why it's fast. Previous to Fast Startup, you'd find that shutdown and then a start took some time (analogous to doing a restart). It's a restart that performs a true shutdown and then a true restart, which will naturally take longer. So, unless we're talking about ridiculous times to restart and it's not due to some major updates that are being installed, then I'd say it's probably quite normal. BTW, it's worth doing a restart now and then to keep your system in good shape.

Some info about Fast Startup on this board can be found in this thread: How to Turn "Fast Startup" On or Off for a Hybrid Boot in Windows 8 and 8.1

"starting up fast" is HardDrive speed..

How fast your computer reads and writes in conunction with the Bus speed of your motherboard and CPU..

You have an Intel i3 Cpu.. (eh.. ) and I assume no SSD..

fix those and you will have "fast startup"..

You can of-course just start by buying a $100+- SSD drive off amazon..

But the problem will be space for this one..

Amazon.com: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM): Computers & Accessories

type in your exact cpu here and look at specs..

Intel Core i3 4010U

also find your exact motherboard model and look for FSB speed..
