laptop wont login and restore gives error 0x80070571

after getting a new laptop and deciding to give my old one to my mum on my old one i deleted programmes she wouldn't need such as photoshop and 3ds max then I shut it down so it would do its automatic update, today my friend needed to borrow it for a min but it wouldnt get past the loading from the password screen to the desktop I tried turning it on and of again, taking out the battery, normal reset through using f9 and none of them worked I then did the advanced restore to an earlier build but no matter which one i choose i get this error 0x80070571
Please help

How long have you waited for the login screen before you forced a shutdown?
Sometimes, with a slow hard drive, it may take some time before the login screen passes.
