How to improve Windows 8.1 performance?

Hello, everyone. So, this year since I upgraded to Windows 8.1, I noticed that my laptop slowed down. It's not really a new laptop, but it works the best to Windows 7. I can do multitasking without bug or lag or freezing in Windows 7, but ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1. It messes up my laptop's performance. It pisses me off like hell.

I couldn't agree more with people who are criticizing Windows 8/8.1 that it really is a garbage. I wonder if you guys know some techniques or tips on how to improve the Windows 8.1 performance? Idk how many times I've formatted my laptop because of this shitty OS. Sigh.
