Option 1 ScanHealth > if shows as Repairable,
    then
Option 2 RestoreHealth > if shows as needing source file,
    then
    Option 3 RestoreHealth /source

    Sorry more questions KYHI,

    1. how often should we be coming back to check on updates.. ?

for example, I think your Image Health app says updated 3 days ago ( checked on Jan 9th-2016) on DropBox.. - Does that mean it's already been updated from when I last downloaded it 2 weeks ago??

2, And also now with the big "upgrade" to windows 10 in effect.. my situation is I am coming from windows 8.1 and the key is embedded in my bios, - So when I clean install windows 10, do you think My embedded key for 8.1 will work for the "clean" win 10 install??

Just thought of that now.. since I'm about to clean install windows 10 soon

    Limiting source to media question

I'm down to trying to use Option 3 and limiting repair files to coming from a Install.wim. Another option is to use the native command to point at a Install.wim only and not use WU for replacement file access. Can I even limit repair file access to the source w/o using WU (option 3)? I'm probably one step away from a Repair Install, but I have to admit I'm avoiding it. I'm trying to recover WU on a 64 bit Dell 8.1U (dell installed) XPS8700. I have the Dell restore media and the OEM key. I don't have a 8.1U ISO with a install.wim but the install media has a install.wim. I also have a retail 64 bit Win8.1U install media which also has a install.wim. I also have the original key card from the purchase of the media. Will pointing at a install media rather than a ISO work with either Image Health or the native command and not letting WU get used to get repair files? My wife's WU is really hosed but the drive is fine and all the apps work great. It's only WU that is giving me fits.

    Option 3 =
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:wim:%setupdrv%:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

    can't find source

Tried Image Health Option 3 with Dell CD in D:
DISM quickly went to 20% and eventually failed. Couldn't find source.
I followed the IH execution with a native DISM execution, same syntax, same result. I checked the DISM.log.
Checked DISM log [extracted error messages]. Not familiar with attaching a txt file. I'm assuming the file gets uploaded when I submit the reply.
Failed to find source from DISM log.txt

Run option 1 - and then option 0 to exit program > post the details.txt found on your desktop

So we can find out what the corruption is...

Since option 3 failed to find the file, the file is not on the setup media (repair source)

Would that cause my PC to freeze randomly? I've been researching and troubleshooting for a while now trying to figure it out. Sometimes it wont freeze for a few hours but sometimes it does it more than that. Hard reset is the only thing to fix it that I have found
