High CPU usage

  1. #11

For a game like that it's quite normal to use big chunk of processor and memory but for System Idle Process it's not. I wander if maybe Bitcoin Miner malware got in somehow.
Mbam should have taken care of it but here's some more about subject: Remove Trojan.BitcoinMiner, Virus Manual Removal Tips

Yeah, I hate to say it.. Only after you done a few more "tweaks" and still no go on what you are looking for.. if it's not too much trouble for you but may wanna backup your stuff and fresh clean install windows and then try that game again. thats the for-sure way to see whats up and if it does that after a clean install you know its terrible programming or your hardware can't handle it..

    just my opinion..

(Don't go formatting your drive just yet.. but if you can't get anything else outta task manager showing you whats up then go that route.. )

here is mine while running a not so intense game as bf4 but still browsing and listening to music and etc..

That's actually 1333 MHz effective because of DDR (Double Data Rate) memory. 633 read AND 633 out .

I'm here to make sure if this is normal activity that I am having 100% CPU during not so much cpu intensive activity's such as watching YouTube videos.. when I'm gaming and I've got firefox closed ( i keep everything else closed out while gaming except Teamspeak 3 ) and I get FPS drops and when I check my task manager, it's just sky rocketed with BF4 in terms of CPU usage) .. I did a clean install last night and had BF4 downloading over night so I am going to give it a shot today and see how it runs..

Battlefield 4 is a really recourse hungry game..

watch videos of people on youtube playing battlefield 4 and notice they have 4Ghz over-clocked and ridiculous video cards etc..

you have a nice system as well, but I watched a few videos where people changed all kinds of settings like setting it to 64bit/changing network smoothness.. just to try to get that game smooth..

anyway the point in the beginning -
Hello, I've been having an on-going problem with My CPU usage spiking up to 55-100% while just browsing the internet and up to around 80ish while just leaving task manager closed and opening it up to notice it was around 80ish before dropping back down.. it's very noticeable when it happens.. especially while gaming.. i get a noticeable frame rate drop and I've tried everything out of the book to solve it.
Being a gamer as well, If you are experiencing High CPU just while browsing interenet, and have tried all this and that.. which I also try when I want something to run the fastest it can, then I can only think to try a clean reinstall of windows and reinstall the game.. then you should stop seeing the high cpu becuase whatever was causing that should now be gone with a clean reinstall.. I've done it many times.. and am about to do it again very shortly cause I just have had too much installed on my computer here lately..

ofcourse backup all your stuff before.. and of course keep trying a few more tweaks but lets say if you did have bitcoinminer etc.. you still should just clean reinstall anyway.. no?

    just my 2 cents..

I really appreciate the suggestions, I reformatted and since then the issue hasn't been really noticed.. Battlefield 4 had a rocky start and it's having a rocky end as it seems.. they have patched this game up left and right and it seems to still have some poor coding/design.

I really appreciate the help from the others in this discussion as well and thanks for the suggestions.
