Well, I have read all the articles in your post and I'm not understanding a lot of the procedures....there are lots of terms/program information used in these articles that I do not understand or how to proceed. I''m lost.......I'm afraid to even attempt to download the program because questions may be asked of some type of function I have no knowledge of during the download.....then what am I suppose to do. I wish I had a friend or someone in the family whose an expert about computer systems, programs, etc., etc., that could do the whole darn project for me. I do have a step-daughter who probably could help somewhat, but she works full-time and has 2 young daughters to take care of as well. And, my son could probably help out with some of it, but he also works (different shifts) and lots of overtime.

Cliff, I do appreciate and thank you for providing me with the information. When I'm feeling less stressed out, I'm going to give it another try.

No problem. If you want we can plan on a Sunday when you have time and not so stressed, and I can help get you started with it. Once it's set up with a definition file (what to backup, when/how often to backup, where to backup to) and you create the recovery disk, which works the same way as in Windows 7's backup, all you need to learn is how to recover.

You can either PM me or just post to this thread and next time I look in I'll see it as I'm subscribed to it.

    For the mean time:
Here is a tutorial from our sister Seven Forums: Windows 7: Imaging with free Macrium
You can watch the video by Wolfgang to get an idea how it all works and looks being done.

Actually I'm trying to do exactly what is proposed here, and file history is not behaving as expected. I restored a full image I took a few months ago, which worked great. I decided to give W8.1's 'File History' a try because I'm tired of Acronis TIH orphaning incremental backups (I doubt it was fixed in 2014 edition). The problem is I have a folder '$OF' that has many files in it with the naming convention of: 4593 (2013_11_09 21_33_36 UTC).mp3 -Of course each...

History question in Performance & Maintenance
I understand that if Windows File History is enabled in Control panel, you automatically get your files backed up on the drive selected. I had the unpleasant surprise to see that after I run history first time 3 weeks ago, after that my latest files were NOT backed up automatically as I have...
