Try DISM then run SFC again, copy and paste this line exact in ADMIN Command Prompt

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

then run: sfc /scannow

Also, you should reboot and run it again after it's finished, even if it shows errors or not. Rebooting allows Windows to repair things that are normally in use when your system is online. Sometimes it takes a few runs to repair everything.

A more thorough cleaning is:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&sfc/scannow&Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&pause
(just copy & paste as spacing is important).

Because of an update from Microsoft there will be two false positive that cannot be repaired. See this post/thread.

Upon researching the page: Download Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 from Official Microsoft Download Center in which was what the DISM command prompt advised, it says: Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8.
I don't understand this. First off, what is a 'remote server'? I don't want my laptop 'controlled' by our home desktop computer. Is this what is causing me problems? Reason I ask, after I did a CLEAN reinstall of Win 8, added the product key, it worked fantastic. My C:/ drive was nice, clean and mostly empty. Of course I had to download some drivers, such as Bluetooth for Wi-Fi, etc. But NOW, I seem to have all of these files BACK on my C:/ drive dating back to last year. They just 'reappeared'. Where from ? I don't know. BUT, I know that I joined the 'Homegroup', which is how I connected when I first bought the laptop. Which everything ran perfectly. THEN, I installed that Windows Server RT and all is where went wrong. BUT, when I did the clean reinstall, I thought that would be wiped out. My device manager is a mess. (I know that belongs in another post), but I have devices attached to my computer that I am most sure are being used remotely (someone using smartphone to gather audio/video capture....media, etc). Am I being paranoid?

Thanks for your reply, I need all the help I can get. I posted the error after the DISM run below. .(or above, whichever way you are looking at it), and am running the sfc /SCANNOW, now. It's in progress. So, afterwards, reboot, run again and then run the more thorough cleaning:

Looking closer at your CBS Log, it loos like you have a lot of link or shortcut corruptions(.lnk) to MMC which are your Administrative Tools in Control Panel. Post if the command doesn't help repair these after a few run throughs. To repair Windows 8.1 and 7 I use a tool from Tweaking.com called Windows Repair. If you download this I can tell you which options to mark to repair these.

Yes I was kind of thinking along those lines as well. I have SO many shortcut links and I have no idea why this is. I have shortcuts for EVERYTHING, and I don't know if it's for our desktop computer to get into ? ?? As the permissions are set for 'everyone'. (is this right, or should this be set like this?) I will download this and give you the results.....give me a few. Thanks!

Is this the info you need? Should I run the repairs? I'm scared to death something will go wrong!! Shucks....I didn't know there was a purchase for key. ....I will have to wait on this one. Unfortunately. No funds for that...I'm a poor college student. :(
But....I'll continue with the sfc/scannow's and such....thanks!

Not re-image repair, Tweaking.com's Windows Repair all in one. It's free, just make sure not to click pro.

I would uninstall that Re-Image.

When/if you download Windows Repair go to the settings tab and make these 2 changes at least(yellow arrows):
Image 1.png

Then got to Repairs(let it make a backup of your registry) and Open Repairs, check only these options:
Image 7.png
at the bottom right check restart/shutdown and let it auto-restart if you wish, or do it manually when its done.

:note: Note: It is important you temporarily shut off Defender or whatever Anti Virus your using, so it doesn't get in the way of the repairs. After the reboot it takes a couple of minutes to finish up, then you can reactivate your AV.
:note:You must be an administrator to run the repairs, and you can also run in Safe Mode(actually better).

I found that one of the optional updates caused a lot of sfc errors that I saw, after uninstalling it, my errors disappeared. I forget which one it was now though.
