System Files Checker Frequently Finds Issues

I don't normally run SFC too much but I have been recently.

SFC find integrity issues 1 or 2 times out of five. ( or there about)
The issues do get repaired using DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

I've restored disk images several times and it seems ok for a while but then the issues return.
Could it be the software I install? I use the same software and never make major changes to anything.

Is this normal for SFC to find issues this often?

    Any help will be appreciated,
    James

Windows updates seem to be causing this for some folks lately. You could do a chkdsk /r if you want but it is going to take awhile, 2+ hours in some cases depending on drive size.

    chkdsk /r does what?

I found out last week that some of the optional updates were causing issues so I haven't been installing any.
But I have been installing all important updates.

Like I said it could just be updates causing it since DISM is fixing things.

The chkdsk /r will check for bad sectors on hard drive, try to recover and move any data, then mark bad sectors so they don't get used again. I have seen perfectly good drives with bad sectors that didn't get marked at the factory when the drive was manufactured.
Not saying you need to do it, simply something that sometimes helps.

It's been so long since I ran chkdsk I had forgotten what it did.

Thanks much for all the info,

If you have Update KB3022345 installed you might consider uninstalling it.

Since I restored the disc image I haven't installed any optional updates which the update you mentioned is a part of.

    I'll hide the update.

    Thanks much,
    James
