Changed some things and it's improved a lot. Still not 20 seconds but it's good enough for me. Subtract the 12 seconds BIOS loading time and it's 40 seconds.

Looks better but still a bit long. But if you are happy, that's all what counts. What is your CPU ??

My CPU is the Intel Core i3-2120 @ 3.30GHz. You can look in my system spec for other hardware information . And like I said, that restart time isn't completely accurate, because of the added BIOS loading time.

As I said, you have to like it. It is of little importance whether there are a few seconds more or less.

Why is restarting my laptop a lot slower than shutting it down and turning it on? Shutting down message takes more time than the restarting message and the windows boot spinning circles takes more rotations than if I turned it on from the shut down state.

Unfortunately that happens. I have a quad core Dell with SSD that needs that amount of time for the BIOS too. Even a BIOS update did not help.

    Interesting.
Can you give some examples of such low end pc's with 2sec BIOS time?

I got a 3.5sec BIOS time, reduction from 5 after BIOS update.
And I don't even see the BIOS screen or any text displayed.
