Solved Automatically Create System Restore Point Every Other Day

If I want to change this to the last 2 days is this possible?
Why?

Are you working under the assumption that System Restore makes a complete backup of your install, so that if anything bad happens, you can restore to an earlier date? Because, if you are -- that is incorrect.

What System Restore does is restore the Operating System, not your install. It does this by saving off system files before they are updated by Windows Update. So, when you use a Restore Point, all it really does is overwrite the existing Operating System files with the old copies that it saved earlier.

System Restore does not save, nor does it restore, user data.

If you want to save an image of your setup, it would be better to use something like Macrium Reflect.

Restore points are very volatile and can disappear any moment - often for unknown reasons. If you want protection, make images. Those you can schedule e.g. with free Macrium or free Aomei Backupper.

Hmm, I thought it also backed up\restored certain programs. For example if I restore to a point before I installed a program that program might be missing\not work correctly. It even gives you a list of programs that might not work right before you do a restore.

But in all honesty, it probably is better just to do a nightly backup of my entire C: drive (it's an SSD with not much data on it). I'll give macrium a try since two people on this thread recommended it.
