HDD activity by explorer.exe (free space check?)

    Hi.

Windows 8.1 x64 installed on SSD Kingston 120G and WD 750G as storage. Disabled almost all writing/reading issues except last one - explorer.exe constantly every 10 minutes checking every volume, probably disk space checking.

Changing well-known registry value HCU\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer does nothing, also procmon shows that explorer checking another value - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DiskSpaceChecking\TestLowStorageStateOnSyste mVolume which by default not exists. Created these key and value and tried to change 0 to 1 and v/v with no luck.

Found ref to TestLowStorageStateOnSystemVolume inside cleanmgr.exe file only.

Any ideas how to disable these checks? Click image for larger version

Delete the task located in Microsoft scheduled tasks. Not sure where exactly, I delete it after setup.
Check DiskCleanup, DiskFootprint or Maintenance, I know for sure, it is there, a description said so.

Thank you, worked. I've disabled much of these tasks before, but seems they need to be fully deleted from task list.

Yes, when disabled they re-enable themselves, actually even when deleted they re-appear sometimes.

My OS is installed on a 500 GB Samsung 840 SSD and there is about 100 GB of data on it. Windows Explorer, however, shows that almost 90% of the drive is used. I double checked with WinDirStat, which confirmed that I only had about 100 GB used on the drive. I triple checked with Space Sniffer,...

I'm trying to shrink C: before partitioning it. It will only allow 85 GB for a new one even though 715 GB is free out of 776 GB on c. I error checked, optimized, and defragged but no change.
free space missing in Performance & Maintenance
I deleted my folder (25GB) because i was running low on space, deleted my recycle bin. And still don't have more than 1GB of free space. I searched for the deleted folder but it's gone, but no space. Any idea what could be the problem ?
