How to run CHKDSK from USB pen drive?

    Thanks MilesAhead, I was confident I would recover it somehow, I never had a HDD mechanical failure, always bad sectors recoverable with software. That's the con of SSD's, you either have a backup or you lose it.

    Like CRT monitors, the technology of "spinners" is well understood. They both may be heavier and old tech. But they don't often do weird things for no reason.

    I once heard from an expert that there are no old or new aircraft, there are only good and bad maintained ones. So fixing to this subforum's topic, the key is maintenance...and performance! Hope that helps
