Windows 8.1 with 5 Disk Partitions - can I shrink them?

I'm currently trying to increase the disk space on my computer. I know that you can shrink or delete unnecessary disk partitions, but I've never done it myself and I'm not sure which ones (other than C, of course) are safe to mess with:

Three are labeled as recovery partitions, and one is just labeled "Data," even though they are all empty? Are they still important?

    Increase disk space???

You have 763GB's of free disk space on your D drive..

Your disk partition layout is the proper layout for your system.. I would not change a thing..

Windows can be stingy about how much you might be able to shrink, but it may have some reason for the number suggested...

I thought you couldn't install programs to the D drive? Or that they don't work as well if you do? Well, I sure feel like an idiot now.

If you install large game files, say..

Install the game to your D drive - any files that need to be placed within windows will automatically be installed / placed on C
