    Win8 Cloud

I downloaded the Cloud on my Win7 computer & instlled it.

Now I have lost my Cloud in Win8.

It gave instructions on what to do but not how to get there.

Now I get nothing but a blank screen!

Does anyone out there have a clue!

    One more frustration with Win8!!

    I don't need this aggravation!

Notice: I am using Win7 for this post!

Whichever cloud you're using, on Windows 7 you are bypassing the registration screen. Although you can access your account from any computer with any OS, you probably have to go through the entry process when you use Win 8.

You don't download the cloud, you upload to the cloud, as in the windows sky drive. Just sign in using your MSN account and you will have access to your sky drive again.

    Hi there.

"The Cloud" -- Cloud Cuckoo Land IMO.

I can't really see this taking off for PRIVATE users in any large way whatsoever.

Some Corporates might try this but I think the experience with some remote services -- especially "Off Shored Call Centres" which must be one of the most hated consumer experiences ever-- might cause a "re think" on this whole idea -- and remember with large storage volumes getting ever cheaper why should a company pay a 3rd party to " look after its data and applications".

Note also that trying these days to find an ISP that still has uncapped data volumes is about as rare as hen's 'teeth so even if you find a Free cloud server with 200 GB storage for example it won't help you if your cap has been reached.

(A few ISP's with uncapped bandwidth still exist -- if you are in the UK I'd recommend SKY --they still have unlimited up / downloads -- although I understand some people might have a problem with "The Murdoch Empire". My experience when I'm in the UK with SKY Broadband has been fine.)

    Cheers

Don't forget that even in many circumstances, when your data is "in the cloud" even in foreign countries to the USA, the USA can still go and grab that data for its own purposes or investigations without even trying to hide the fact.

I agree. I have a 2 tetra byte backup drive. Why would I trust my data to some unknown & untrusted pie in the Sky!

By the way, how do you delete a "Sky Drive?

You can't delete the Sky Drive, only the information you uploaded/saved to it. Sign in to Sky Drive, and then check the boxes next to what you had saved, then click the delete button at the bottom of the screen. Personality I have a 5 terabyte external HDD for my backup duties, and find the cloud not useful for myself, BUT then again I was taught good backup routines as were a lot of people here. Have to love the old daily tape backups.
