You can download a small program that will admit you to a cloud operating system. Your personal information and account are stored on the cloud, and then you can access the cloud programs.

You actually use the cloud anyway. Facebook, Hotmail, Google, and Yahoo are all cloud software that are not stored on your computer.

Cloud data storage does have benefits if you are highly mobile (like myself). I have a phone, tablet, and desktop that I use at different times, and having certain data available to all is much easier if you store it on something they all can access (and again, being highly mobile, I don't want to have to carry around that "something" either, as it's just more weight and space in my bag) .

"The cloud " is metro, smart phone , tablet type of solution where you don't have sensible back-up systems.
But why trust external systems, I would think 90% of users would find 32GB to store their documents pics ,emails music on
perfectly adequate for 10 UK. Full backup and enormous media library 1TB drive is 45 in the UK. For professional use a mirrored NAS with 2x1TB and server can be built for 150. Just don't burn your building down.

Hi all Here's a little warning of what could happen if you start becoming too reliant on using "The Cloud". Twitter was forced to turn over a huge amount of its data to the FBI -- didn't matter if you were resident of a country not subject to the USA's internal policy or legislation. Maybe...
