I do not know what Paragon is pulling up - maybe info that is recoverable..

Diskpart and cmd prompt appears to see the partitions as raw data..

yes the recovery partition can be moved to the end of drive..

I can see more details of what is in each partition using Mini Tool Partition Wizard Free which Dell support were using today. It seems all partitions contain useful data apart from R & S.

Referring to my Post 18, my plan is to:

    1. Delete empty partitions R & S
    2. Move T & U to the end of the disk
    3. Expand the OS on C to use up the free space
    4. Never to use Dell Backup & Recovery again!

Dell advised that operation of the Microsoft recovery partition on T and the Dell factory image on U should not be affected by moving the partitions.

I'd like a second opinion please on whether the above should work to avoid a complete re-installation!

Partition 6 Vol R / DISKPART Partition 10 -900GB unformatted. This can be removed.

Partition 7 Vol S / DISKPART Partition 9 -900GB unformatted. This can be removed.

Partition 8 Vol T / DISKPART Partition 6 - OEM Service Volume 450MB NTFS, 314.5MB used. This can be removed.

Partition 10 / DISKPART Partition 7? - 8GB not formatted. This can be removed.

Partition 8 Vol T / DISKPART Partition 6 - OEM Service Volume contains this data:
and Partition 4 Vol Q WINRETOOLS contains this data:

Both contain WINRE.WIM but Partition 4 /Vol Q also includes some Dell files.

Some reports suggest Partition 8 Vol T is installed by Windows 8.1 so is it really safe to delete it? If I keep this partition, can I safely move it to the end of the disk using a partition tool?

I cleaned up my disk as described above and all is fine apart from one minor problem. It seems that last 8GB partition which I've now deleted was used by Intel Rapid Start Technology Manager which I had disabled anyway. I now get a nag screen when Windows 8 starts saying Rapid Start Technology Manager is not available. How do I uninstall Intel Rapid Start Technology Manager since no option appears in Control Panel /Programs?
