Strip windows 8 bare like ubuntu

Hello!

Is it possible to strip windows 8 down to pretty much just command line / bare minimum.

I want to buy a machine to use for rendering with 3ds max however windows is bloated compared to something like ubuntu (I would use ubuntu but max is not supported) . How can i do this?

You can uninstall modern apps & things in programs and features, also some of windows feature too. Also services you won't need you can turn off(but better and recommended is set to manual). If you mean ripping them out, the answer is no, because EVERYTING is interwoven in Windows and not compartmentalized like Linux.
