Disk Cleanup not deleting windows update files

So recently I tried to use the disk cleanup to try to get some space off my laptop

Disk cleanup scanned and recognized 1.7GB worth of windows update cleanup files, so I then proceed to delete them

Restarted my laptop multiple times but it seems the files were not deleted

I retried everything and ran everything using run as administrator but still did not work, even used shutdown -s -t 0 to turn off my laptop

did a sfc /scannow and the only errors in the CBS log is related to my AMD radeon card and should have nothing to do with the disk cleanup / windows update

Im running out of ideas about why the disk cleanup didnt delete my windows update cleanup files, is it possible to delete them manually? also im a ccleaner user, so if that conflicts with disk cleanup do tell me.

Some updateshave a "grace period" of up to 30 days. This is so if you run into conflicts, you can uninstall them/restore point, without these files your only choice would be to reimage, refresh or reinstall Windows. A good example is after Patch Tuesday updates some AVs have serious problems with them(which has happened a lot lately) and cause crashes and BSODs. Or there was one that had to do with Fonts laced in a different place than "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Fonts".
Sometimes these files delete immediately and sometimes a month later, you really shouldn't worry about them. If you need more space, think about getting a larger disk and migrating/cloning this one.

well Cliff S unfortunately what you're saying is not true (referring to the 30 day "Grace Period" because it's been more than a month and i'm still having the same problem.

I'm running 8.1 with all updates on, supposedly. In Control Panel, Troubleshooting, System & Security, Fix Problems with Windows Update, Advanced, Run as Administrator: It says it fixed the problem (whatever that may be). I rerun it. It says it fixed the problem. This goes on ad infinitum. It...
Disk Cleanup is failing in removing 972MB from Windows Updates, no matter how many times I run it, it always shows the same value, I've tried many things like troubleshooting windows update, running sfc scans and other things I don't remember. I'm using Windows 8.1 btw.
Well, as the title suggests, I'm having an issue with Disk Cleanup with a new SSD I recently purchased. In all my years with HDDs I never had this problem. I've been running Windows 8.1 with an HDD for over a year now with no such problem so this is quite new & odd to me. The Windows Update Cleanup...
I've had this desktop for 10 months now. OEM purchase with 8.0, immediately upgraded to 8.1 and have applied all updates to date including the ones today. Never had any significant issues. I have a 1T HDD with over 820G free space and will probably never use half of that. Freeing up disk space...
Can't cleanup backup update files. in Windows Updates & Activation
They do not show in Disk cleanup at all and there must be several GB of them. Since everything is working good, without any problems related to updates I figured I should delete some parasitic files from the system. If nothing at least system/disk backup file will be smaller.
Disk Cleanup Not Deleting Files in Performance & Maintenance
I recently ran a Disk Cleanup as part of my regular maintenance on my new computer. It had over 2.18GB of files to cleanup. That seemed a little high considering I run it every week to 2 weeks. It said it deleted all the files. I ran the Scan Disk again to be sure and it still had 2.18GB of files....
