cant get the system to restore

    cant get the system to restore


    Hi,not very good with PC's,have tried to do a system restore but get the following message; Failed to extract original copy of directory from restore point.Source %programfiles %windows apps.destination Appx Staging.There was a disc failure during restore.
    Can anyone help?

    I'm running laptop easynote TE windows 8.1

    Did you follow these directions carefully?

    Reset Recovery Image - Create in Windows 8[1]=Performance Maintenance

    If it makes things easier for you, you can actually burn a copy of the ISO on to a DVD and use that during reset. I just did that myself.

    I use the Standard version of Macrium Reflect Free myself for the boot time recovery environment.

    I also have factory recovery disks.

    Thanks Man. Is the free version any good because that seems like an expensive program.

    The paid version generates a recovery CD/USB that includes the option to repair Windows boot. It also includes the option to install a recovery boot option that you can select when booting the PC -- without requiring the CD/USB.

    This is NOT an automated system restore; instead, it provides a way to either repair windows boot problems or restore from a saved image backup -- which you have to create yourself before using the restore option.

    The free version (AFAIK) does not include the Windows repair nor does it include the recovery boot option.
