Mod "File History" to backup anything/better backup app?

Okay so I recently got a new Windows 8 computer and I installed my old hard drive and would like to use it as a hidden backup for the 'File History" setting on the computer. The only problem I am having is it is only backing up parts of my User folder and folders from my external but it is not backing up folders like Program Files, Program Data, etc... Is there any way to make it so it backs up everything or at least any folder I would like it to? If not is there another backup program you would recommend that will accomplish what I am looking for?

Well since noone has responded I thought I would share what I found. This is a "semi-solution". In order to force File History ro backup all files on my PC I added a library and labelled it "BACKUP" then I added my main drive to this library and low and behold it backs up certain file-types. This is a semi-solution because of that... it only backs up certain file-types. If someone knows of a better "solution" or to include all file-types in File History when backing up let me know below!

Quite simple and obvious, so much so that people probably did not bother answering. I for one thought you were just taking the mick.

Bottom left of the File History page is: See also 'System Image Backup' so just follow that link.

File-based backups are useful if one or more files get corrupted or are accidentally deleted. I presume, however, that you are aware that even if you back up all the files on your system you still will not be able to use these backups to recover your system if the hard drive fails. For that you will need a system image backup, done either with the supplied Windows utility or a third-party program. And obviously the system image will have to be stored somewhere else other than the failed hard drive!

It would be simple IF a system image was what I was referring to... I said I'd like to be able to backup all files and folders so I could restore them using file history as implied. Not the whole system image. I am pretty sure my semi-"solution" is all that will work unless like I was asking IF you can force file history to include ALL types of files. Not that I want to restore ALL files, I'd just like to be able to restore any file from file history if needed that's all. Though I guess my backup library will have to suffice. Atleast it includes for the most part the types of files that usually change.
