Probably best to not defrag a known failing drive, rather, make backups ASAP. Because I did not want to risk an unrestorable image due to a bad image backup -- I've done folder-by-folder, file-by-file, just to quickly get whatever data remains good "off" of the problem HD onto my new replacement HD. Time is critical. LIke Nike: Just do it, now.

It's even better to have backups all the time, with HDDs you never know when it's going to croak. I have seen them just disappear from radar.

Can you link me how to backup my windows 8 OEM i mean can i use my windows 8 OEM to a new hard drive? if can how? i might bring this to a service center since the only accessible with this laptop is the RAM slots

will the sony center will allow me to used my new HDD with the clone inside?

    with the clone inside?
The question does not make sense -- the clone is not INSIDE anything. When you make an exact copy of a disk or a partition, that copy is the "clone" of the original. You generally do that because you want to copy the entire disk or partition to a new drive, and that is most often used when you want to replace the older drive and don't want to go the trouble of reinstalling everything -- the OS, your apps, and your data.

Also, what does the "sony center" have to do with this?
