Shutdown Pagefile Issues Windows 8.1

I am judging the boot time from a stopwatch not the system and it is most certainly much longer. The Windows load screen seems to hang around for around 15 seconds. Whereas before it would be around for approx 2 seconds max. I can observe this 2 second waiting period with the hibernation function, but not the shutdown function anymore.

I have read this article to try and understand what is going on:
How Windows 8 Hybrid Shutdown / Fast Boot feature works - TechRepublic

Windows doesnt seem to be saving much to any file when i press shutdown as it shuts down really quick and I dont see much hard drive activity. & startup seems to be much longer due to not having the files and just performing a cold boot instead.

    ****PROBLEM SOLVED****

Samsung Magician released an update yesterday which changed the hibernation function for the SSD, I disabled the hibernation function and re-enabled it. It must have been some registry keys or hardware settings that Windows could not change on the SSD, therefore by changing this in the Samsung magician utility the correct changes could be made to enable the hibernation/fast start up function within windows.

If you guys would like more information, message me and ask me to post more.

    Thanks everyone, especially Cliff S!

No problem. An update for the Pro's yesterday I just checked and don't see one. I have Magician version 4.5 and firmware version DXM06B0Q the same as the last 6 months or so. What do you have now? Maybe the difference you have one of the newer "850"'s and I have an "840".

Hi Cliff yes you are right,

To be precise I looked at the event log and saw that a new service was installed on the system in the background called MagicianSataModeReader. Service: magdrvamd64.sys Which is a Kernel Mode Driver.

I then went to investigate in Samsung Magician software and saw that the current profile had been changed. This may have also been due to the fact that the RAM available to the system changed while I had RAM Disk. So Samsung probably tweaked a few files automatically, but upon returning my RAM back to normal, I just reactivated these settings (mainly the hibernation one).

& everything was then back to normal.

That sounds like a good possibility. If you have set up RAPID mode(highly recommended) it works like something between a RAM disk and prefetch, but with an optimized algorithm for the ssd microprocessor.

Hi Cliff, I have ordered some 8gb of Crucial Ram hoping to receive in the next few days, I will then enable rapid mode as I will be playing with 3x more memory in my system. Although one quick question which I understand is unrelated to this topic.. Do you see any performance increase from Rapid mode personally?

Oh yeah here are my last 3 benchmarks plus one I just did to check(without optimizing first): Attachment 57333
