My battery is not very good compared to yours lol. My designed capacity is 28,771 and my full charge capacity is the same.

You've got a good battery and the current settings will give you a reasonable battery service life. If you lower all the settings to near exhaustion you will considerably reduce it's service life. Lower the critical battery level to 5% and reserve battery to 6%. Set low battery level to 'do nothing' and low battery warning level 6%. Experience should tell you when you get the low battery warning how many minutes you've got left before it hits critical and shuts down.

you're unable to put the critical battery level lower than 9% on this laptop. I have the low battery warning on 12% since my laptops performance drops at around 10-11%, I don't know what the reserve level is for but I have that on 10%, and the low battery action to do nothing. Anyways, kyhi pretty much answered my original question about the performance dropping when battery gets low.

I took 'weak' to mean 'old'. When I think about it, 10% on my laptop (50mwH) is more juice than 10% on yours at 25mwH so your settings are probably about right. Aim to get a 50 milliwatter or more next time round.

When you say a 50 milliwatter, you mean the battery correct?

I looked on the HP site and the batteries on their site have a battery life of 4-5.5 hours, there's one that has a battery life of 6-8 hours. I don't know if those batteries are for certain laptops or what.

The higher the MAh the longer the battery life.. Basically the bigger the battery - the longer it lasts..

Search for batteries by your laptop model

    ie Dell 1520 battery

This is a normal result of a weak battery..
so the battery I got with my laptop is weak?

    Tim.

I was looking up your laptop on the HP site and there is a product recall for defective power cords on safety grounds for your model. Depends how old it is.
