Since installing the updates from the week of December 15th, I have had many, many problems with my system. My Outlook Calendar hangs and sometimes flickers at a very high rate of speed, as well as other drop down menus and even the Task Manager window, typing stops and starts whether it's in an email, Skype, etc., I will randomly hear a Windows loud "ding" sound at about 1.5 second intervals that won't stop until I sign out and back in, as well as other issues. I turned off my AV last night and began a system restore about 6 p.m. or so. It's now 11 a.m. the next morning, and it's still running. Lenovo wants to send me a new hard drive with installation CDs, but my system doesn't have a CD drive. I am working many, many hours every day, 7 days a week, and I don't know where I'm going to find the time to start all over even if I had a CD drive. I use the computer to work, and I have to work today and tomorrow.
I have run SFC scannow, chkdsk /R, Lenovo dignostics etc. etc. etc. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of.
Any suggestions on the never-ending system restore?
