Hello,

This is my first thread here, so sorry if not in the right place.
I was wondering if I could run Oracle DB 12c on a machine which has 2 GB RAM and 2.8 Dual-core processor, running win 8.1 64-bit version. I will also need to run 2 virtual machines, maybe XP or some linux distro which does not require many resources to run some tests.

Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

PS: Or should I use Win Server 2008 instead of win 8.1. Which consumes less resources?
PS2: Happy New Year!

You'll definitely need more RAM when running VMs. You have the minimum of 2GB for the 64-bit version of Windows. Server would be an option but the system requirements aren't much different.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 System Requirements

Usually running VMs requires additional RAM for the version of the OS in use. Some versions of Linux can run on 512MB.
