    How to disable ReadyBoot?

I have this error: Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188

    Startup Event Trace Session

I have tried to Disable And Delete it from startup, but it just keeps reappearing, any ideas?
I have tried to restrict access to ReadyBoot.etl, which resulted in reinstall, since I was unable to boot.
So I am unwilling to try to set it to 0 and I would prefer to disable it, rather then to increase its size.

Side story: I have had recently had daily BSOD Kernel-Power related, (probably fixed by disabling Windows Driver Foundation), but I also suspect, that when ReadyBoot tried to write to a log file and failed, it tried to write to a pagefile, which is disabled, which might have caused BSOD.

    1. Run script from MS Knowledge Base Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2008
    2. For ReadyBoot read Error: "Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188" in Windows 7

for the record have you tried setting the limit back to 20MB which is the default?

Most of the support articles seem to focus on Windows 7

For the record, have you tried setting the Maximum Size to 20 MB? That, I think, is the default.

Unfortunately that script does not work on my PC, but for the record, the error has disappeared about 4 days ago, I did not even notice until now. It somehow set itself to 100MB. What a nasty little bugger. OK, I will set it to 0, at worst I will have to reinstall again.

Not 0, 20. 128MB is also suggested as a fix for this issue

I want to have it disabled, not running. So after I set it to 0MB, PC works, but bunch of other errors.
Crash dump initialization failed! - like it is BSOD and another one related to DistributedCOM.

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {7022A3B3-D004-4F52-AF11-E9E987FEE25F} and APPID {ADA41B3C-C6FD-4A08-8CC1-D6EFDE67BE7D} to the user Computer\User SID (S-1-5-21-2789561009-3002667834-2710348183-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

Well I am going to google now, hopefully I will find something related.

EDIT: I guess, that maybe this: https://www.eightforums.com/performan...ro-64-bit.html

EDIT: Nevermind, enabling Diagnostic Policy Service solves that problem.

As for the Event ID 46 logged when you start a computer - that is result of no pagefile and no readyboot.

I guess, that I have managed to disable ReadyBoot after all, by setting it to 0MB. I guess problem solved.

Yep, some programs look for the presence of a paging file/Virtual Memory no matter the size. I have 2GB on my 250GB C: and 12GB on my 500GB D: drive with 8GB RAM.
