Wierd lags and CPU overloads.

So as the topic states I've started to have wierd lags. I think it started only during things loading, such as starting a program or opening an internet brower. Now it's so bad I can't watch a movie since 1/3 of the sound is either going robotic stuttering or gone all together however the video is not experiencing any issues. It seems to work a bit better when my router is shut off, tho that could just be an coincidence. Played some WoW earlier today and was at 90-100 FPS and there was some crazy lag/robotic stuttering going on from time to time even tho the FPS didn't change.

I've also been trying to monitor my CPUs. Right now my load is at 4% and when opening a new browser tab the load got past 50% and after a few sec dropped back to 4%. At times I have seen WMI take up 50-70% of the CPU. At other times the load is at 100% but the processes that could be monitored had only added up to 40-50% of the total loads.

I'm sorry if this is confusing, but I'm not really good at this kind of stuff so if I can provide any kind of logs or whatnot please let me know (and how to do it) and I'll get it done.

Thanks in advance.

computers have lag and issues?? what?? who would have thought? especially when "loading" programs?? or loading parts of games...

man of course computers lag and slug and chug ... they have to do millions of computations and algorithms etc..

what Hard drive do you have?

start benchmarking with programs and compare to see what you get compared to others and start there..

crystalbenchmark

ASSSD

I personally like Intel EXtreme tuning utility because it has a really cool graph that you can customize.. (but do not CHANGE ANY OF THE SETTINGS for the cpu.. you can totally ruin your system..) so again dont overclock or change settings..

you only use intel extreme tuniing for the monitoring.. assuming you have an intel cpu..

Methinks, it's time to clean up windows but good.
AV and antimalware scans and cleaning,
Turning off any autostart programs you don't need,
Defragment and optimize HDD/s
Run: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Check for proper, eventually newest drivers.

I5 2500K can be OCed nicely but need better, aftermarket cooling.
Adding an SSD at least for system can do wonders to "peppiness" of whole system.

Judging by your dxdiag.txt the driver of your soundcard is the windows generic driver from Microsoft.
You should install the driver from Asus. Either from the CD (if you have one), or from the product support site on asus.com
