Can someone tell me what a DVD+R blank disk will do?

So, what do I need to buy to backup a computer? I know, an external hard drive will work. But, I don't have the money to buy one.

How full is your drive? For example if you have 62GB you need to keep you need a 64 GB backup drive. If it is 213GB you need 250GB.

If your drive (320GB according to your specs) is full you need at least 320 GB.

To reboot in case of failure you need a USB key at least 512MB in size ( a couple of $)

If you really can't afford anything then upload the most important files you have to OneDrive or GoogleDrive and hope for the best.

The recovery discs of my Laptop are on 3 x DVD+R discs. Drivers on another, and others for my Documents. Important stuff has more than one copy.

Whilst you could backup a whole PC, say an image, to a number of DVD+R discs, it would be rather too many discs for my liking, about 12 DVDs in my case assuming single layer discs.

The next cheapest option maybe a USB drive.

I could use OneDrive and Google Drive, however my upload speeds are such that it is not very practical.
