A lot truth there, i replaced my original HDD with SSD i see a lot of improvements overall. Liked about ASUS system was barely any bloatware at all. By the way, i know Lenovo is notorious for a lot of this bloatware. Windows 8.1 after couple of restarts after new SSD will be recognized or can run WinSat Formal. As said OP needs to check what is running at startup and in back round.

Well I don't know what exactly is happening but the pc store I bought it from is looking for anything that could cause this.

I also don't know if I will be able to have an SSD.

Since it must be still under warranty would not advise opening it, it will void it as you know. Question is, what kind of store, mean qualified techs ?

It is only a 1.7GHz processor. Your Pentium was faster.

But according to the computer store I bought it from, every generation, GHz gets 20% faster. And if 1-2 generations come out every year, then it would have been 60-120% faster compared to my 2011 pentium

But 2.1GHz is faster than 1.7GHz. The 1.7GHz can do more if there are more cores than in the 2.1GHz CPU. But if the program you are running uses only 1 core (which is often the case), then all the cores in the world do not help.

Kind of what i was saying in a previous post of mine, was not great deal of difference in processors to see such a drastic difference.
I was not ever saying you were tricked into anything, but it seems now your thoughts were to want to see a improvement over last System. Chances then you needed to research more on purchase before it was made. Again you never tried suggestions made to increase boot time. 2 different operating systems too.

Wish you luck on whatever you choose to do.

In addition, the AMD is a Low power CPU = slower than Pentium at sustained clock speeds. If the OP got a full voltage AMD CPU, eg AMD A8-7200P, it should have higher frequency and be much faster than the Pentium

You could also try removing AVG2015, it slows down the system.
