Solved Laptop using too much CPU for simple tasks

So yesterday I did my general laptop maintenance by updating my windows files through windows upgrade, it upgraded necessary files along with an Intel Integrated Graphics Card Upgrade, and for some reason after installing the files, followed by a laptop restart, I noticed a HUGE difference not only with my general laptop performance, but also playing video games, and such.
Usually my laptop would run on an average of a 10% CPU but now it goes up to 50% for such simple tasks, such as playing a video on youtube.
I'd be grateful if anyone can help me out with this issue. In any way possible.
Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Ic3

Hey mate,

If you suspect your graphics card driver as being the culprit (the only update you specifically mentioned), then you might try installing the latest driver supplied for your motherboard from the manufacturer's website. Install it over the current one you have, even if it is presented as being an 'older' version than your current one. If it asks instead of an installation, if you'd like to repair/uninstall, then choose repair.

You didn't leave your system specs, so I cannot point you in the right direction, but it is there that I recommend you find all your motherboard component drivers.

But aren't the upgrades supported by windows supposed to be valid for the video card you're using?
It wouldn't make sense for windows to give you a video card upgrade based on a different one.
If you know what I mean.
My system specs are as follow:
Windows 8.1
Intel i7-3630QM
2.40GHz
32gb RAM
64 bit
nvidea gforce 680m

You would think so, but going off of my own multiple experiences and many others, the computer often times doesn't like the driver being offered. Your motherboard manufacturer will know more about which driver best suits your motherboard/OS. I always recommend NEVER to install ANY device drivers from Windows update.
