Hi its my first time to run windows update cleanup on my laptop. after analyzing i could get 1gb+ free space then i run it then i notice that it so slow its been 3 hours now then i should worry now coz my laptop fan hits 100% think so and laptop gets hot so i cancelled it then ive start then it took 2 hrs so after the laptop boots it ran fine i rechecked it then it says 98MB left so my question is why is it takes too long? or my system is just slow? is it okay to just left the 98MB remaining? i so tired waiting to finish the process up

Windows Update cleanup can be a long process depending on the speed of your system and how much there is to clean out. Be patient and let it run.

You should not have any issues by leaving them there other than space but with only 98 MB left sooner or later it will bite you.

Suggest at least you run the Cleaner and Registry by downloading CCleaner Free from Piniform. It may help you gain some space and performance. This is not the same as the Windows Update cleaner.

Try running the windows update troubleshooter in the action centre as well. That fixed the sticking on windows update cleanup issue for me. There is a box to tick there to run the troubleshooter as administrator.
