    H.D.D issuse - performance drop

I was running win 8.1 enterprise well yesterday day and all the year
until suddenly it failed to boot the next day keeps checking for disk errors all day
I left it more than 24 hours with no luck only H.D.D LED on all time
then I installed win xp sp3 to see whats happening now I cant install the chipset , the display device
and any program begins to install rolls back with a fatal error and freezing the PC
when transferring files sometimes saying there is no operating system now what happened to this H.D.D
when the pc freezes i can hear the HDD trying to spin then stops then spins again with a strange sound
changed all cables . and defrag wont help . no errors checked

The HDD seems to pretty much on it's way out.

If you have any important files on that HDD, then it's time to get them off the drive.

HDD Regenerator plus TestDisk were pretty helpful in the past for me.

Like when I had a customer with a video / photo-diary of their little daughter on a dying external WD-HDD.

It took me 8 Day's and Night's, but I was able to repair almost 70.000 Sectors and to move the files from the drive via TestDisk.

I / the customer only lost 2 photos in the process.

    I sent you a PM.

    Looks like a walker indeed.
Hook it up in another machine as secondary, try to salvage any data from partitions un-harmed by the XP installation, the drive is not to be trusted, cheer up!

I set up my Windows 8.1 notebook with a solid desktop color, which lets me read things I drop there, but I was unable to set up a friend's machine this way. First, on the Start screen I didn't see any "desktop" tile. Mine is the lower left tile on the Start screen and says "desktop." None of the...
Hello all, I recently updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 8.1. Before updating, I was able to play all of my games just fine, particularly Skyrim, on high or even max settings. After updating though, the first time I loaded a save game it took nearly between 5-10 minutes to load (compared to...
Cannot drag and drop in General Support
Hello, I don't seem to be able to drag and drop anymore in more than one application, so it should be Windows, not the applications. I did restart the laptop, but it didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks! Paul
Hi, after moving to Windows 8 I noticed a performance loss in many video games. After doing some testing I came to the conclusion that it is caused by the DWM(Desktop Window Manager) stealing CPU cycles from the games. In order to make completely sure DWM was the culprit I tested the same games...
