I would suggest not to move it since AppData does not take a lot of spaces. What you actually want to do is a little cleanup.
I have a lot of applications installed but AppData only takes 1.17 GB. By moving it, you can cause some of the programs to stop working.

Download: TreeSize Free Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives and run it. Go thru each folder to see where all the files taking lots of spaces.

Take a close look at Windows.edb file, it can grow big and takes many GB's:
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-edb-file

Also, empty out your recycle bin and delete all the old restore points

If you moved that directory to another drive, it wouldn't end well. Most programs would just recreate whatever they had there, but in some cases you'd lose a lot of things. Firefox, for example, stores all your bookmarks, extensions and everything else inside a directory in the AppData directory. So if you moved that folder, you'd start Firefox the next time and it'd be like you were running it for the first time.

Once the OS is installed, that's it, the location of that directory is locked to that spot. I suppose you could try setting up NTFS's version of a symlink, but that's the sort of thing that could lead to a number of unintended and unwanted consequences down the road.

Move Documents to D:.

Best solution is to get a larger drive.

Rather than buying a new drive, and then struggling with migrating your present partitions to that drive, if you have lots of unused space in the D: partition, you should consider resizing D: (to make it smaller) and C: (to make it larger). You can do this using the Minitool Partition Wizard Boot CD. You download that ISO file, burn a CD from it, boot from the CD -- and then use the app to resize the partitions.

Yup, I should have looked at the specs. Looks like a 2TB drive partitioned into C: and D: with C: being too small. Mark's suggestion is the way to go.

Have to agree with the foregoing, there's just some things one thinks they can do with Windows but really can't without breaking it. Unless of course one wants to rewrite Windows.

From the .pdf file. I can see [9Files] occupied 6.4GB and System Volume Information is 3.5 GB.
Google for the 9Files: 9 File - What is it and how do I open it?
and 3.5GB are all your System Restore points.

You can clean up the restore points and recover the storage space. With the [9Files], I am not sure what program you are using to create such a large file so it's up to you to delete it or move it to somewhere else since it's not a system file and need not to be in C: drive.

In addition, Open the Admin command prompt and run:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
to Remove Superseded and Unused System Files

9 files are windows system files.
There's no such Windows System Files called [9 Files] and takes up 6.5 GB of storage. You should investigate what it is.

My bad. Yes, you are right, they are hidden system files and the way treesize listed is confusing.
