Looks like your video adapter is not using system ram because total video memory is the same as msinfo32 shows. (Msinfo32 shows only dedicated video RAM alone. For instance, my video card has 512 MB ram but my whole system uses 760 MB of video RAM in total.)

What you can try is go into your bios settings. If there is a setting for memory hole, enable it. If it is enabled already, disabled it. See how it goes with that change.

No, I can't because all motherboards are completely different. You will have to Google for your motherboard's manual and have a look at it. Or if you have the physical paper manual, it will also tell you in it.

On my systems, I have to keep pressing delete key on the keyboard when the system is booting - but like I said, it's always different.

Usually but not always, pressing F10 saves changes in the bios after you make them.

It's not something I would worry about too much. One a system with 4 GB RAM, the difference of .2 GB is in no way going to do anything good or bad at all.

Here is more reading about it if you would like to see: The usable memory may be less than the installed memory on Windows 7-based computers

That being said, you still may be able to find some setting in the bios that does something. But be careful that you don't just go changing things willy nilly. I would Google about any specific setting if you aren't sure and find out what it does, first.

If you have Windows 8 x86 (32 bit) then there is nothing to be done and all is perfect already.

If you have memory remapping in the bios, enable that.

Most boards use some RAM. Some more, some less. I would not worry about it. I think you are chasing a red herring.

Your using intergrated video. There is nothing wrong and most likely nothing you can do to change. my laptop has an i5 with 8gb of ram but because I'm using the intel HD graphics and not a discrete graphics card. Only 7985MB is avail and not the whole 8gb. Some Bios's let you change the amount of ram dedicated to graphics but its usually on the older motherboards.

Hi, I have Windows 8.1 32-bit installed and have fitted my PC (Dell Inspiron 531) with 4GB RAM. The system only reports 3.25gb as usable - where has the remainder gone? Is it the Graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT)? I understand that Win8.1 32-bit can utilise a full 4GB of RAM?

3.79 gig usable from 4 gig installed memory! in Performance & Maintenance
Hi ;I have an asus laptop and I clean installed windows 8 pro x64...in pc info it says 4.00 gig memory(3.79 usable)...that it wasn't like this before on my last windows 7 sp1 x64...what should I do now?... PS: in my bios there is no option named memory remapping or etc.
Is there a way to swap these values? default windows 8 drivers has 256 shared system memory but 0 dedicated video memory but after installing sis mirage 3+ drivers dedicated video memory has gone up to 256mb and shared system memory has gone low to 64mb. Editing sis drivers maybe? but how?
