Since I have installed windows 8.1, every time for example if I don't use my laptop for 10 minutes, and because of the battery saving setting plan, my display turns off. Before I installed windows 8.1, I could just move a mouse or press any key and display would turn on, but since the installation I have to restart my laptop (Samsung ultrabook), even if I can hear it's on and working.

It honestly sounds like you are just going into hibernate/sleep mode.

Only advice I could imagine that would remotely help would be to make sure you have done all Windows Updates.

What OS did the computer originally ship with? Did you go to the manufacturer's website and download all the proper drivers? Most importantly, you want to make sure that your laptop's chipset drivers are up to date (and support Windows 8), as well as the BIOS. Also look for any power management/battery drivers.

Since most laptop's use proprietary drivers for most of their components, simply upgrading your laptop and allowing Windows Update to identify and install what it thinks are the correct drivers doesn't always work that way with laptops (if this is in fact what you did).

It was shipped with windows 7. I always allow windows update to install, I'll try to install specific drivers separately as you said. Thanks

Acronis 2014, was guilty of causing this problem, but was quickly updated. Acronis installed????

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
