Live Kernel Event hardware error without symptoms?

    Good day all,

Today, I started up my PC and after browsing on it for an hour I noticed a LiveKernelEvent hardware error in the Performance and Reliability graph. Looking at the time of the error, it appears that it occurred seconds after booting up my PC. The weird thing is that the PC didn't act strange or freeze up. Also, googling this error shows that it's mainly associated with BSOD's while my PC didn't give any.

I couldn't find any errors about it in the logs but there is only an information log about it (Dutch):

    Foutbucket , type 0
Naam van gebeurtenis: LiveKernelEvent (name of event)
    Antwoord: Niet beschikbaar
    Id van CAB-bestand: 0

Handtekening van probleem (signature of problem):
    P1: ab
    P2: 1
    P3: 1130
    P4: 0

    Rapportstatus:

Note that at Parameter 1 a code named "ab" is given which I couldn't find at all on the internet (usually P1 codes are numbers). Also, I could only find 2 files that were given by the error log (see attachment). There are no minidumps in C:/windows while it is enabled in the options to register any.

I'd appreciate it a lot if you guys could tell me what the cause of this error could be with the help of the files. Is this a serious issue? I just recently formatted my PC and installed all latest updates.

    Specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit with Media Centre
    i5-3570K (stock)
    GTX 660Ti
    8GB RAM

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for your answer.

Only thing here is, I did not get any BSOD's after these updates and I couldn't find any link with my error. The error occurred 2 days after installing the updates.

That's the thing! These are unstable updates and could cause trouble at any time and possibly days later.

I think the general opinion is if you have any of these updates, the prudent thing to do is uninstall them.

Google Search the issue if you like, there has been ample documentation including some general statements from MS advising users to uninstall the updates before serious problems develop. They are not always causing BSOD and in some cases just weird behavior.

Not saying this is definitely what caused your issue but it's a strong possibility.

Hmm, it does seem likely especially since these updates have something to do with the Kernel.
Guess I'm lucky my PC is still booting up.

Weird thing is that the KB description is saying that I should remove some particular registry keys before uninstalling the update but I don't have these registry keys at all.

Guess it's still better to uninstall the update nonetheless.
