Registry cleaner has caused Autorun problems in Windows 8

    Hi again topgundcp,

I had already followed the link to turn on or off autoplay but nothing I did made any difference.
I then followed your instructions to edit the registry and deleted the NoDriveTypeAutoRun.and rebooted. This seems to have done the trick. Inserting USB keys triggers autorun. CD's trigger autorun with the exception of one which takes exactly 5 minutes trigger autorun but once it does it will do it again and again until the CD is removed for longer than 5 minutes then it returns to taking 5 minutes to fire up again. It is the same with DVD's, all now trigger autorun with the exception of one which seems to follow the same pattern and time scale as the CD.
I have not run the attached file 'EnableAutorun.reg' as I was not sure if I needed to do after editing the registry.

So it would appear that most of the problems caused by Wise registry cleaner to my Windows 8.1 laptop have been resolved...

Thanks once again to you topgundcp you are a star...

No, you don't need to use the attached file. It does the same thing as edit the registry and delete NoDriveTypeAutoRun.
    Glad that we could help.
