    windows 8.1 start up time

    hi everyone

before I upgraded to windows 8.1 my start up time was fairly quick about 20 seconds, now I find after I have upgraded to 8.1 my start up time is over one minute, can anyone please tell me why this has happened.

Check the Startup items in Task Manager for those that are starting up that you do not need to start right away. Right click them and disable. You might verify that your drivers are up to date also.

If you have a spinning hard drive, check to see if it needs to be defragged.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and see if they have driver updates for your computer.

After a quick google I found this:

    Drivers Update Software by RadarSync

Can't vouch for it's credibility, since I haven't used it. But it looks promising!

Not a good idea, they just scan and then try to get you to pay for supposedly update drivers that at times do not work.

What is your system specs? Many manufacturers have update utilities that ship with the system. The utility will auto-notify you of updates. Or you can turn off the auto feature and just run it once in a while. My Lenovo Yoga 13 has it and I saw that HP does too.
