Low Memory Warning when little RAM is in use

Alright so for some reason my computer has decided to give me a few warnings about low memory when playing tomb raider.

The thing I don't get about this is, I'm not even close to using all of my RAM.

I've never had any issues like this before, not even when running Skyrim, GMOD, FFXIV ARR all at the same time, and it just seems to be with tomb raider. Anyone know what is going on?

Hello Donjb, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Usually when you get a low memory error, it's from either your page file is not set to be managed by the system, page file not set high enough, and/or your Windows C: drive is low on free space.

    Hope this helps for now,

It is set to be managed by the system, not sure if it's high enough (I should think it would be) and I have 400GB free on my C: drive. I do see it says something about recommended 5xxx and it currently has 2xxx allocated or something, would the problem be me needing to set a custom and having it above the 5xxx number?

You could manually increase the page file size and restart the computer to see if that may help.

If not, the game may have a memory leak.

Been looking into it and it seems many other 8.1 users playing the game are having the same issue due to something with the game. Looks like the only solution is to put up with it appearing every once in awhile. At least it seems there is nothing wrong with my system.

If you haven't already, check at the game's website to see if there may be an update or patch available for it that may help.

That warning has always been more or less generic warning and does not necessarily mean what it implies. Usually it happens when a poorly designed or incompatible program tries to access memory mapped for another program, driver etc. or by Windows itself.

Hello all. New member here. I have had an issue with my PC since I "upgraded" to windows 8.1 earlier this year that is driving me batty. Unfortunately, I upgraded the hardware (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) at the same time, so I can't rule out a hardware issue completely. The issue stuck around...
55243 The picture says it all. Usually when I have as "low" as 4 gigabytes of free RAM remaining (25% of my total RAM), that's when Windows starts crashing programs all over the place (no blue screens, just application crashes), to the point where I have to restart my computer. I would really...

I've been looking at the Surface Pro and other tablet/laptop convertible machines fitted with Win 8. The top-end models usually offer only flash memory in stead of a hard drive. After my new build froze up during boot up into Windows 8, I tried to run Windows 8's built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic, extended setting, but it got stuck at 21% of 1st pass (10% overall) after running it overnight (at least 12 hours). I had 4x4GB memory modules, and re-ran this test with only...
