AMD CPU Getting Too Hot

Hi, i have just built a gaming pc with an AMD FX 8320 CPU.
The CPU is getting a lot hotter than my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 on my old PC.
My Intel got around 29 degrees C when idling, my new AMD gets around 44 degrees when idling.
I am using a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo Tower Cooler to cool my CPU and am using the Thermal Paste included.
I am using CPUID Hardware Monitor to monitor the temps. Here is a screenshot:

Is it normal to get these temps on my CPU? I read that AMD cpus get hotter than Intels but i did not think it would be this hot.

Thanks:)

Well, its summer now, even my laptop overheats and just shuts down, which should never happen by design, but its still happens. I wouldnt be to much scared about idle temps, you should check temps when your computer is working at its full.

If those temperatures are under full load, they are just fine except for TMPIN2 which I don't believe is right and is measured underneath the CPU and is usually much hotter than cores. Good case ventilation can help a lot.

Hi, CountMike, these temps are actually idle temps. I am using a Cooler master TX3 CPU cooler. I did a test to see if the stock AMD cooler did any better and it did! The stock cooler gets around 39 degrees when idling.

I am going to order some high quality thermal paste and a second fan for my TX3 to see if that makes a difference, but for now the stock cooler is all good :)

OK, those fx processors are known to report idle temps inaccurately and besides, temps at the full load of the processor are what really counts. I'm afraid that that CM Tx3 is not going to be enough, something bigger, with at least 6 pipes and 120mm fans would be more appropriate specially if you are thinking of any OC. As far as I've seen, a CM Hyper 212 Evo would be a bare minimum for heavy duty operation at stock speeds or light OC. My neighbor has 8320 on a Gigabyte 990 UD7 MB and is running it at 5 GHz 24/7 with respectable temps but under a CM Hyper 612 Evo cooler.

I use this cooler for my FX-8350 and it keeps the cpu on a very low temperature level even under full load.
