Hi,
I'm having problems with file history, as I can not get it to run.

It has been working perfectly for the past 6 months, and was scheduled to run daily. However recently it has not run for about a week, and I have to manually do?

I have tried turning it off and on again, I have tried adjusting the intervals at which it runs, but nothing has helped. The drive can not be full as it works fine if I manually do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

File History has been a disaster since Windows 8.x.x came out. I have rarely gotten it to work on my son's laptop, when he is connected to the home LAN.

A lot depends on the router and any type of third party Firewall software. I keep the Firewall off on his laptop, when he is home and connected to our LAN. That way he does not have me "fixing" something every five min's for him.

There seem to be a lot of error and warnings in event manger, but I don't know what they mean.

The "Warning" say: Unusual condition was encountered during finalization of a backup cycle for configuration C:\Users\Mitchell\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config

or some other kind of document could not be backed up file hsitory.jpg

whilst the "Errors" say: Unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration C:\Users\Mitchell\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config

and one error says its was unable to finish

Turn off File History, delete the Back up and turn it back on and reconfigure it.

A better option would be to use image backup software like Macrium (Free) and forget File History.
