Win 8.1 - create recovery DISC, not usb

Hi everyone,
I want to create recovery disc (from recovery partition of my laptop), but I'm not able to do it in Win 8.1. They removed this option in Win 8.1.
I'm able to create recovery usb. I tried to copy all files from usb to BluRay and burn (in Linux). But I'm not able to boot from BluRay, boot from USB work's.
Please help, how to create bootable BluRay? Or how to copy files from usb to BluRay and make BluRay bootable?

hi, it not that they removed the option ,it some manufacturer don't allow you to use dvd anymore ,for some reason they want you to use a usb ,i think it might be your only option

Yes, MS did remove the option.

If you want a repair disc, that is easy enough, it will fit on a cd.

Transferring the entire recovery partition to dvd will require splitting the wim's. They probably already are due to the limitation of fat32.

Use Macrium (free backup) instead of Windows and make a bootable optical disc., and use Macrium to create/restore your backup image when needed.

I use the one click System Backup with AOMEI Backupper . Also an easy to create WinPE recovery CD.

There is an even simpler one from Aomei now. Not many options, it is for people who just want it to create a recovery partition, create a system image on there, then they can restore from winpe or from boot menu entry.

That is all it does. Currently in Beta

Yep,SIW, I have seen that. But since it is still in beta testing stage - for which they are inducing testers with discounts/rebates - I am not looking into it. Once it gets past the beta testing, perhaps one can consider that.That is my view.

I have had a go with it, seems to be fine. Pretty simple.

Thank's, I tried Macrium and AOMEI Backupper, but I have feeling, that this tool allow me just create "backup of recovery partition". So if I want to restore from factory backup, I have to restore partition with recovery first, then restore from this partition. This isn't solution. I need just one recovery on DVD's/BluRay, that will restore directly from factory backup.
I tried create bootable USB and then burn all files from it to BluRay, but BluRay didn't become bootable like flash disk.
Any solution?

so what wrong with have a usb flash disk as a recovery option ,it will work as good as a dvd disk

I think you are thoroughly mistaken.

Both Macrium and AOMEI Backupper can image your system partition/s. You restore your system - that is the OS partition and associated partitions.

The above tools can also backup your recovery partition or any other partition you may want to image .

In general, if you want to back up your complete machine, you will create a system backup that will create an image of the OS partition that will automatically include all other necessary sectors/partitions that are required to boot the OS . You may also take a back up of the recovery partition.

If your system for some reason becomes unbootable, you may restore the system backup image booting from the Recovery CD, which will only run the tool. It has nothing to do with the original recovery partition that is in the HDD.

If your original Recovery partition is damaged or corrupted, you may restore it from the image of the Recovery partition you had created earlier.
