After installing windows update, I noticed that my laptop could not shutdown, hibernate or restart if i make use of it for a long time like 2hours and above. I only shut it down by long press and hold the power button. Anyone knows what the problem might be, i really need some help.. My laptop is Dell inspiron 15R windows 8.

Shutting down through the charms bar is the ideal method except in an emergency, continually shutting down by pressing the power button does not agree with Windows and may cause problems. For now type sfc /scannow in the elevated command prompt to fix any corrupt system files.
