Hi all,

i've found on my event log some entries - around 3 or 4 every minute related to "UserModePowerService", seems it don't affect the computer, however i started to see my computer sometimes wake up from sleep and i think such events are not normal.

I would like to know the reason or know more details about it, or if someone have the same "issue". I was searching for some information but i didn't saw cases related or cases when they provide a workaround or solution.

Computer Details:

Laptop (Asus zenbook ux302LG - i7, SSD+HDD raid0, 12gb ram)
Windows 8.1

Troubleshooting done:

Reinstalled Asus SmartGesture and Power4Gear Hybrid
Updated BIOS
changed Power schemas, created new ones

Event Message (If is needed the full .xml of the event pls ask ;) )

Level: Information
Source: UserModePowerService
EventID: 12
TaskCategory: 10

"Process C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Smart Gesture\AsTPCenter\x64\AsusTPCenter.exe (process ID:3916) reset policy scheme from {512a6ac6-efc1-4441-85c9-cccf29b69cd2} to {512a6ac6-efc1-4441-85c9-cccf29b69cd2}"

All events are always about the same process.

thanks in advance

easy way out

on most comps nowadays, there are duplicate items like P4G, my advice remove it and just use the standard MS option thats what i did on my Asus.

As a secondary check, if you have a spare mouse, dissable the Synaptics/smartgesture/atk services. and see what happens.
if the problem dissappears then re-enable them 1 by 1 to see which is giving you the prob.

Hi Hawkman,

i was thinking about unistall P4G because i think doesn't make so much difference between the Windows in-build solution. however i usually use touchpad so SmartGestures are useful for me.

it's just i was curious about why of this events, i had several laptops and i never saw such events.

i'll do the test and i will let you know, thanks ;)
